Prado Museum, Madrid

Integration of several art museum buildings, and additional temporary galleries and public facilites.

Using the sloping site and the landscape of the vicinity, the project is concerned with providing a contemporary entrance as a mediating environment between the classical museum buildings, and proposes a landscaped public garden as its upper surface.
Light wells formed with glazed and planted structures with running water, articulate and connect floors. With ideas of translucency and interconnection; of a matrix both intelligent and fluid, the project is intended to be unintrusive and restrained.
