![]() Kuwait Sports Club£10m development of sports facilities on the Kuwaiti coastLimited competition entry - published and exhibited at the Royal Academy.Prize winner of the Architects Journal/Bovis Construction Award 1993. This scheme addresses the issues of erosion and juxtaposition through a series of devices that, when linked, resolve both the environmental and the functional nature of exercise. These four elements - the courts, deck, water and dune - collectively articulate the placing of the object within this arid landscape. These elements, like those from the Yves Tanguy game Le Cadavre Exquis, operate both independently and with each other; their exact relationship being decided by the individual actions of the members. |
