![]() The ChandleryResidential, live-work and workplace units, London SE1A 3600sqm conversion of a Victorian School buildings with additional suspended mezzanines including 7 apartments, 6 live/work units and 13 studio work spaces for sale plus rented workspace.Consents for the scheme were negotiated with Southwark Borough Council and won full planning permission in February 2004. The project was successfully completed in December 2005 with Priestman Architects acting as Architects and Project Manager. 22 units have dramatic double height spaces with new mezzanines suspended from original beams, and six units have contemporary projecting steel, glass and timber balconies. The project involved complex structural alterations to the roofs and for the new mezzanines, and a new lift installed to serve 4 floors. A new build portion of the project includes new entrances and reception are linking existing buildings, and external landscaping with conrete benches is used to upgrade the site and environs. Build costs were £93/sqft gross. |
